Documents: To enter the country, a passport is required with at least six months of validity remaining at the time of entry. For tourists, a national ID card (paper or electronic) valid for international travel is also acceptable, again with a minimum six-month validity. Two passport-size photos are required to obtain a visa. The photos are mandatory. Authorities do not accept the extended version of the electronic ID.
Currency: The official currency is the Egyptian Pound.

Dancing is one of the most loved and practiced activities in the country. It is traditional and also appreciated by tourists who gladly attend dance performances. However, dance, especially belly dancing, is not always well regarded by Egyptians, as it is often seen as a sign of promiscuity, making it considered inappropriate behavior for an Arab woman. For this reason, belly dancers are often accompanied by bodyguards to avoid retaliation from Islamic extremists.
