Greece Sea, History, Colors, and Legends

Greece is a magnificent country in Southeastern Europe that includes thousands of islands washed by the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean and Ionian Seas. Due to its historical significance, it is often referred to as the cradle of Western civilization. Here, history, archaeology, art, and architecture shine through with unique and rare beauty.

And then there is nature—wild, rugged, and hidden coves. Remote places you can only reach by boat, where you can sit and watch unforgettable sunsets!

The turquoise and transparent sea along the coast and among the islands offers incredible scenic views. Among the many islands, we must mention the charming Santorini, with its iconic white and blue houses, and Mykonos, one of the most famous islands in the world, where people of all ages gather each year to enjoy a lively atmosphere full of parties and nightlife.

Naturally, the ancient city of Athens is a must-see, with its Acropolis and famous ancient ruins, including the monumental Parthenon. Also worth visiting is Rhodes, with the Valley of the Butterflies, an unspoiled woodland area where the lush landscape will truly take your breath away.

But Greek history and culture are everywhere! For example, a visit to the Palace of Knossos in Crete is a must—it’s where, according to legend, Theseus defeated the Minotaur with the help of Ariadne's thread. There’s also the archaeological site of Delphi, and Olympia, the ancient city where the Olympic Games were born.

Equally fascinating are the charming inland villages, where you can experience local traditions, regional cuisine, and the warm hospitality of the people.

One trip is certainly not enough to take in all these wonders—you’ll want to return again and again!
