The island of San Pietro is so called because, according to legend, the Saint landed here in 46 AD. In addition to a magnificent and peaceful landscape, the island offers an ideal habitat for numerous animal species, including the Queen's Falcon, which migrates to Madagascar in winter, and various types of birds can be found in the lagoon, including splendid pink flamingos.
