A magnificent and peaceful panorama, immersed in the local fauna and flora. The island of San Pietro is an explosion of life and colors
The island of San Pietro is so called because, according to legend, the Saint landed here in 46 AD. In addition to a magnificent and peaceful landscape, the island offers an ideal habitat for numerous animal species, including the Queen's Falcon, which migrates to Madagascar in winter, and various types of birds can be found in the lagoon, including splendid pink flamingos. In spring, the islanders also witness the passage of tuna, a period during which the traditional collective enterprise of bluefin tuna fishing takes place. The main town is Carloforte and the guided tour dedicated to this island will start from here. A professional guide will lead you along the streets of the town retracing the history and culture of the island with accompanying tastings of typical dishes and lunch as tradition commands.
