Your experience

A place where time seems to have stopped. The territory of Zungri has directly experienced the passage of time and all eras, bringing testimony to us. It was already inhabited in prehistoric times, numerous were the Greek-Roman finds but it was also populated during the Middle Ages. It is in the heart of Monte Poro that rock settlements have been excavated, probably by Sbariati, or stragglers, fugitives: a group of Basilian monks fleeing from the East. We are talking about over 50 caves dug by man, covering an area of about 3,000 square meters, partly carved into the rock and partly built. These spaces were used as homes but also as a shelter for animals or for the production of wine. A visit to this magnificent and precious complex awaits you, as well as a walk in the town of Zungri, which has been able to preserve so much history and traditions of the local culture.
