The tradition of perfume is part of the city of Parma. A journey to discover the famous violets that make the fragrances of the city recognizable
The perfume tradition is part of the city of Parma, a fascinating but still little known history. The visit starts from the Serre del Parco Ducale, to discover the famous violets of Parma, already present and appreciated within the Duchy in the second half of the eighteenth century. Maria Luisa of Habsburg, as well as wife of Napoleon Bonaparte and Duchess of Parma and Piacenza, also loved the city and its perfumes. The lunch will in fact be based on those dishes so loved by the Duchess, revisited in a modern way. The themed itinerary then continues with a visit to various historical perfumeries, a fascinating and hidden cosmetic and pharmaceutical laboratory dating back to 1789.
